Apple. You can run both OS's on Apple, but only Windows on Microsoft.

As for reasons.
Stability.
Security, security, security.
Not intrusive.
Logical file system.
User friendly.
Price.
Efficiency.
And of course, it just looks cool.

Doesn't do well with games at the low end,
but that's what game consoles are for.

Microsoft is easier to use for me, but I like the looks of Apple.

I like PC games - MS is better for games.

Apple is great for Image Compositing and Video/Audio Authoring. I also like OS X for listening to music and surfing the web for some reason (I use Firefox and iTunes on both Windows and OS X, but prefer OSX for this task).

I really dislike the apple Finder (it is BS). I also dislike the OS X "Task Manager" used to switch between multiple applications and multiple instances on applications. Expose is cool, but I'd like something quicker. The GNOME and KDE desktop for Linux is the best. Nautilius for Linux is the best too. I also like the workspaces.

Apple.

Through long domination and having "assumed" it will always be "on top", Microsoft has lost its creative edge.
