My family goes to movies and I buy many DVD's for my children. I won't buy this because I don't believe that it would be o.k. for my money to support the theme of killing God. I have to be responsible for myself, if others enjoy it then that is their choice and so be it. I won't lose sleep about it.

It is fortunate for me that this writer verbalized his hatred for C.S. Elliot and the Chronicles of Narnia based on his own lack of belief in God. If I had not known his position on certain issues, I could not make an informed decision. The way that I will approach this with my children and students is that the media does make attempts to persuade people- even in very round about ways. People have personal agendas, and sometimes they want to make large amounts of money while promoting their own agenda. We have to be smart enough to know what we are hearing, watching, and reading- or choose not to hear, watch or read.

The point of it is, is that Christians KNOW what the movie is about. So, if they don't see it, then maybe we'll find out how much money the Atheist crowd brings in.
I hope the f---ing movie bombs.
It's a shame that Hollywood is trying to promote the "No God" theory in their movies now.

Who knows?
Who cares?
Read the books, waiting for the movie, hoping that there will be a T-shirt. (LOL)
It is a shame that the DVD will probably not be out by Christmas, it would make a great Yule present.
Here's hoping that it is enough of a success to see books two and three get to the screen.

90% of them never even heard of it or the "His Dark Materials" trilogy before the controversy started, and the "boycott" is irrelevant anyway. It hasn't hurt the Harry Potter franchise, has it? If "Compass" is a good movie, and attracts the fans who read the books, it will be a massive hit. Period.

I am. Any movie that speaks against Christ will not get a cent of my money.

There is absolutely no way Christians will be able to take it off screen. If they don't like then don't watch it, its as easy as that.
