i bought a car about a month ago. it was a 2008 mitsubishi lancer. the salesman said that plus tax and everything it will come out to be $24,000 and something. so i said i'll down pay $19,000 and finance the rest, which he said was $5,000 and something. i'm 18, and have no credit. so i thought the deal was like that. but then i found out the the dealership sold me the car at the price of $25,000 and plus tax and everything came out to be $29,000 and something. so i had financed about $10,000. with interested came out to be $15,000. i never agreed to that term, but i signed all my documents without knowing. the people there said it as we talked about and i trusted them that it was right. since i'm new at this stuff, they said they'll take care of me.
what do i do?
what can i do?
i never agreed on the numbers on my agreement i signed, and the price is way over my head.
do i get a lawyer?
help me please.
thank you

You really need to talk to a lawyer. You MAY have been taken advantage of because you are so young and inexperienced. Good luck.

Sorry to say that BUT:
1. Once you signed the papers, you are legally out of luck
2. Paying even $24K for this car is insane
3. The last - and the dumbest - thing one can do is to trust a dealer
4. @18, with no credit insurance on a "sporty" car will be a disaster.
And finally, it's a very expensive lesson but if you - like most others - don't learn from it, it will also be extremely shameful!

This is why they got you to sign papers.

If you're not willing to read the papers when you sign them, you better marry someone who is. (That's what my wife did!)

I never sign any papers until I read them first and ensure certain numbers are what I expect them to be.

Never trust a sales person.

If your name is at the bottom of the contract, it means you agreed to it.

Sorry dude! but your screwed and tatooed. You signed the paperwork and it is your fault for not reading it. I would just payoff the car asap and then u can badmouth the dealer if it helps u sleep at night.

You signed and drove the car away? You just learned a very expensive lesson. READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU SIGN!

By signing it, you agreed to it. Next time you'll read everything before you trust a stranger.

Did you get GAP? If so, you could roll the car off a mountain. Free and clear.
