ah but you can move from a man made obstacle(water cap, divot, temporary fence, etc), and too many ppl twist their feet on the greens and damages the grass...some of the big boys still use steel spikes...the rules arent held fast for weekend duffers and you'll see lots move their ball for a better lie.....most of us weekenders are there for the joy of the game and we do tend to bend the rules somewhat.....anyway "Happy Whacky de ball"

I don't like the rule that says to finish a hole you must get your ball in the hole. After I've putted twice I really don't feel like putting again. :-)
The divot thing is a pain. However, I've played with people who "bump" the ball everywhere. They can have a perfect lie and they still move the ball.

I would allow for moving the ball out of and to the back of a fairway divot. I would also agree with the man who said that talking should not be allowed during a shot. AT ANY TIME. And unfortunately I have to agree that it is women who do this worse than men. The women tend not to stop talking and pickup where they left off after the shot. Then as a partner it feels rude not to answer during the shot. Girls, master this problem. every one of you. Then your husband might take you with him.

Prefered lie on fairway for tee shots for sure.
But as a sepctator sport I want to see the end of "Quiet Please"
These guys are pros getting paid a mint. If a world class rugby player can put up with 100000 fans screaming miss miss miss then any golfer worth his salt should be able to take the same pressure.
Bring on the sledging to make it more exciting.
We had a very good all round sportsman in Australia in the late forties early fifties ( ex air force fighter pilot ) who was once asked if he felt much pressure facing pace bowlers to which he replied.
"Pressure is haveing a meshershmit up your **** , this is just cricket"

I would change the wimpiness of the range-finder rule. The USGA leaves it up to the local organization to allow or disallow the use of range finders, which leads to great confusion. They should make one rule, either allowing or disallowing in all cases.
I would also change the out of bounds rule. Instead of stroke and distance, make it two strokes, and a drop within two club lengths of where it went out of bounds. It's impossible on a Saturday monring to return to the tee to take your shot.
On the other hand, I don't know what to do about a lost ball in that situation.

Golf is getting too easy already with all this new equipment (for the pros that is) In fact I believe that they have already begun using wider spread teeth on the sand rakes to make deeper grooves (harder to play out of) and are even considering making it so you do not rake after your shots because it is getting to easy for the pro's to play out of sand. It isn't penalizing enough. So they are making more rules; and i agree with the idea.

I guess I've been breaking the rules all these years...I've always replaced the divot right after my shot.
I'm really not a fan of the whole par thing!!!! jk

Agree about the divot.
What about allowing more than 14 clubs? I'd like to carry at least one more to feel safe! ;)
