I fry it in a pan. Use very little oil (I generally use just a bit of olive oil) since the sausage already has fat in it.
Start out on a medium low heat & put a lid on it so that the sausage cooks through. Stay nearby & turn it every few minutes so that one side doesn't get too brown. This should take about 15 minutes.
I like to add my onions & peppers about halfway through so they don't get too mushy. Leave the lid on the pan for about ten minutes to cook the veggies. (Of course - stir every few minutes.)
That outta do it!
Good luck! YUM!

What I do is boil it in about an inch of water and then let the water evaporate and fry it. I do put it in a little olive oil after the water is gone. Then I put the onions and green peppers in with the sausage and scrape the bottom of the pan to get the good little bits off the bottom. It is so good.

If you have a fresh sausage - the kind in a casing - put it in a frypan that has a lid, and add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Put on the lid and bring this to a simmer, turning once. When it is white all the way around, remove the lid and let the water cook off. now poke it with a fork a few times to make some holes in the skin, and fry it until it's nicely browned on all sides.

French/Italian Sausage Sub

Ingredients
4-6 Italian Sausages (pork)
1 Loaf of French Bread
1 Medium onion
1 Small green pepper
Olive Oil
Preparation

Brown the sausages in a skillet, making sure they are cooked all the way through. Half-way through the cooking, you can add the cut up onion and pepper, or you can brown them in a separate skillet.

Cut French bread in sections and then in half lengthwise. Put in the sausage and onion/pepper mixture and enjoy!

If it's a hotdog type sausage then boil it but if its a sausage type sausage, you know what I mean...beef or pork then you can either fry or grill it. We always prick our sausages all over regardless of whether it's got skin on or not. You can use either lard, vegetable oil or sunflower oil in the pan if you're going to fry it. Cook over a medium-low heat then that way it'll be nicely browned on the outside and properly cooked in the middle. If grilling then a medium heat will cook it nicely. Mmm! Bangers in a bun, bangers n mash, bangers, baked beans n mash....very versatile product is the ol' sausage! (toad-in-the-hole, sausage n liver casserole, sausage casserole, pigs in blankets, sausage n fried onions in a bun........) Yummy!

Just put about 1/2 inch of water in a frying pan and add the sausage. Cook until done in the middle (sausage should start to split open).

If you want the restaurant taste, fry it, just put barely a touch of oil in the pan. I would slice it up and fry it up with the peppers and onions

My favourite way is to put a little water in the pan.
Then cover the sausage with a pot lid.
That way the water steams the sausage, extracting the fat.
When the water evaporates, the sausage gets browned.
Then you can pour off the excess fat.

When it comes to sausage cuisine , the man to ask is Buk, the Gordon Ramsey of palatable sausage cutlets.

The best way however, that I know how to cook 'em is in a little beer.
