i want to be a navy seabee, but i also want to look into the marines and see different opptions, i can never really find that much info on it. can woman be a tank crewman? or a motor t?

Contrary to what the majority of posters, none of whom is a Marine, are telling you, women are prohibited by federal law from direct combat roles. That means you cannot be in 0300 infantry, 0800 artillery, 1800 armor, and certain 0200 intel MOS's. Any other USMC MOS is open to you. I have served as a Marine for 18 years and there are women in the Corps with whom I would fight along side in a heartbeat, but the law is what it is. I would say if it's Seabees you're interested in, go Navy. If you really want to become a Marine, then look into the 1300 engineer career field.

Women can definitly be Motor T In the Marines, I know a few of them. About the Tank crew I am not too sure, check with a Marine Recruiter.
Women have equal rights in the Marines, but some MOS are not open for them due to the law that prohibits them from serving in MOS related to direct combat. Infantry being one.

Federal law prohibits women from serving directly in a combat role. So, if you want to be a lady Marine, you won't be able to serve in infantry, artillery, or in armor (tanks). But, you can be an electrician, computer tech, adminstrative jobs galore, etc. Talk to your Marine recruiter. I didn't know the SeaBees were allowing women, so you should also talk to the Navy recruiter.

this is a wonderfull move in your life.all you have to do is get ready for bootcamp and earn an independent life,ok: lets start jogging long distance,take your vitamins,work yourselfup to 100 push ups and sit up a day(sit ups preferably with a weighted backpack on),also 20 chin ups, and learn how to hit bulls eyes on a rifle range at 100 yards.do this and you will make it.there are lots and lots of mos's motor t ,i think you would love.get a license to drive humvees,trucks of every size

well as everyone else is saying anything but infantry BUT if you want a job that gets you near the actions or is just cool as hell and you will find a lot of women marines doing it is Combat Camera : photography, videography or Public affairs: journalist/ news broadcaster..........its a great skill and puts you with the grunts

stay with the seabee if you enjoy bulding things or blowing up things then stay with the seabees beacuse they are not called the fighting seabees for a joke

talk to a recruiter,,,, they will best answer all your questions...
and consider speaking with all the branches of the armed forces, maybe even the coast guard, have many options do thorough research before committing to a course of action. I am partial to the Army but then i bleed green.

They have this new things called equal rights as long as you have the physical and mental capabilities you can be anything you want in the Marines or anywhere else for that matter.
