You do realize this is a tradition that dates back to the Truman Presidency, right?
that said, the two Border Patrol agents deserve not only a pardon, but a medal.

I agree with the President on some things...but not on his incomprehensibly stubborn support for Mexico and all of these illegals and amnesty.
It seems that even if the Turkeys were illegally caught crossing the border, carrying drugs, they'd not only be pardoned but given immunity so they could do it again.
OK...I believe that Compean and Ramos did some wrong or questionable things pertaining to this case, but I also believe that their punishment was excessive and completely wrong...and seems to be entirely political to appease Mexico for some reason. Does anyone know why President Bush seems to want to bend over and spread 'em when it comes to any dealing with Mexico? What do they have on him?

You can believe that those won't be the only two turkeys he pardons. It would take a million people marching to get Ramos and Compean out, though. If we weren't shot down in the streets for doing it.

LOL Thomasina Paine has it right! I didn't realize turkeys were native to Mexico!
On a serious side, not to mention the fact that he goes to bat for a brutal murderer illegal criminal who raped, sodomized, and bludgeoned to death two innocent girls!
"Medellin was born in Mexico, but spent much of his childhood in the United States. He was 18 in June 1993, when he and other members of the Black and Whites gang in Houston encountered two teenage girls on a railroad trestle.
The girls were gang-raped and strangled. Their bodies were found four days later.
Medellin was arrested a few days later. He was told he had a right to remain silent and have a lawyer present, but the police did not tell him that he could request assistance from the Mexican consulate.
Medellin gave a written confession. He was convicted of murder in the course of a sexual assault, a capital offense in Texas. A judge sentenced him to death in October 1994."
