my mom's best friend, mary, died in 2005 from cancer.
they were friends since high school and we all miss her.
but i had a dream about her last night.
we were in my dining room and i saw mary sitting in a chair.
and no one else noticed her.
then my mom asked me to sit down. and i said i couldn't because mary was sitting there. and my mom said no, no one is sitting there.
but i think in the dream, i had forgotten she died.
thoughts?

Most likely it is just your mind creating random things from your memories. I wouldn't put too much stock in it, as dreams usually don't have much underlining meaning - even though lots of people try to figure out the meaning of EVERYTHING. Somethings just don't have a meaning.

is your mom getting close with someone else? if so maybe you are feeling like someone is trying to take her place and you don't want that to happen. i feel like dreams are a reflection of suppressed thoughts and desires. try and look at your life from the outside and than look at your dreams again
