I was just wondering as you could have a lucky eye shot and btw my air gun fires at around 600 fps.

I would suggest you try your experiment on a wild boar. lol
Come back and tell us if you are brain dead, or within couple of days if you dont choose a best answer, we will consider that you have passed away. Right everyone?

lol a 600 fps airgun. It all depends on what caliber it is. Some korean company makes an airgun in 50 CAL that goes 650 fps. THAT could kill a deer. not a 600 fps .177 walmart rifle or even a .22. PLus, if you wanna kill a deer, just buy a gun. You are probally 12 though to ask this ? haha

My uncle told me that when he was young, him and a friend were sitting in a deer stand. He saw his friend point his air rifle down an shoot. He looked down to see a dow lying at the foot of the stand. All he could figure was that the deer was looking up at them and the pellet went down the nose and killed the deer. Other than something that freakish, no a pellet gun will not kill a deer.

I dont think that weapon will have the power to kill a deer, as the others have said you will need a head shot, brain or maybe through the eye.... it would be a one in a million shot.... if your looking to get into deer hunting try a larger weapon, like a 30-30 or 25-06.....

A shot to the eye would kill the deer easily, since the eye is a direct path to the brain.
Any other shot would be a foolish attempt at best.

I dont know...all im sayin is that one time i shot this squirrel with my 550 fps air gun at ten yards.....it took me probably 8 more shots to put the poor thing out of its misery. By the time i was done the meat was mostly messed cause of all the shots and it mite have sat out too long.

I dn't be responsive to plenty approximately air rifles, yet that doesn't sound like plenty. Airsoft weapons in many cases function at 3 hundred FPS. i grew to become into under the effect that one thousand FPS grew to become into oftentimes mandatory for searching small interest. through how I easily have a question. How does a .22 high quality air rifle selection from a .177? Is the bigger high quality extra advantageous for searching?

Not with 10 ftlbs, not even close.
Air guns for hunting are pushing 10 times that power, and are HPA's, not spring or Co2's. But it is very possible to have an air gun for hunting big game, you just have to know where to get those types of guns, and how to use them. You just don't go walking into a Wally world and buy one. I know two guys that go to Africa and hunt big game with air rifles. I've even saw pictures and videos of them hunting buffalo with those types of air rifles.

Anything is possible..But from an ethical and legal standpoint I would suggest against trying such a fool thing. Great way to get yourself arrested, and never be able to hunt legally for the rest of your life. It just happened to a 12 year old in upstate New York State two weeks ago. Cost his parents $3000 in fines on top of it. The boy can't get a hunting license for the rest of his life as a result......Something to think about.....

Extremely unlikely. Your best bet would be a brain shot and it would be unlikely to penetrate the skull. Very unlikely. At that point I hope it would come stamp on you for trying.
