I have a tdk dvd burner and I'm using Nero 7 software, but for some reason it takes about the actual length of the movie to put it on a dvd. I'm so use to being able to make a cd in 5 minutes. Is it not the same process? Thanks for sharing.

It is basically the same process, but DVDs hold a whole heck of a lot more data than a CD.

However, with that said, it shouldn't take as long as viewing it. Something is wrong with your Nero program. You could try removing the instance of Nero you currently have installed, then go to the website and download a new instance. Or, you could simply reinstall from the disk it came on as often even if one file becomes corrupt it can have really odd results, such as lost features and usability.

If you keep having issues contact the manufacturer where you bought your CD/DVD drive from, whichever manufacturer built it. These burners now come with CD with either Nero or Sonic/Roxio software.

If your burner came pre-installed on your system, then contact your computer manufacturer for assistance. If it is still in warranty you can receive free assistance, as it is hardware related, even though it is a software program. It is hardware related because the software came with the hardware.

Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.

the burn speed is dependent upon several factors some of them are:
max speed of the drive; max speed of the disk; memory; hard drive speed; computer speed;

from your description it sounds as though you are burning disks at 1X I have an old pioneer A-04 that burns at that speed, recheck your burn speeds insure that you check the box for max speed, this will probe your drive and determine the best speed it can handle. hope this helps

It is probably set to burn at 1x.
