Everyone always says that I can't do certain things because I am too arrogant. But I don't know why they think that. Is it the things I say or the things I do? What do you think?

Who says that? What kind of things do they say that you cannot do because "they" believe you are arrogant?

I'd bet that only a small group of people say that (your family? or a small group of friends?). It is probably something that one person said and everyone else is trying to confirm it through actions that have little to do with arrogance.

Don't let the perceptions of others decide what you can or cannot do... that, my friend, is completely up to you.

Most people that are perceived as arrogant are introverted and/or shy. They are quiet and content being by themselves, so people think they are stuck up. Could that be what is happening here? If so, get out there and socialize with a wider group of people.

Sometimes, people who are highly opinionated are given that label, too. If so, make an effort to listen to the opinions of others while presenting a genuine smile (easy to do, think of something that makes you happy while listening to the other person).

I should also mention that sometimes we are the mirrors of our worst critics. By that, I mean that an arrogant person will see that trait in you (even if it does not exist). Projection is a very real phenomenon. Are these people arrogant and in denial?

I hope this answer helps you somehow.

Take care!

How would anyone possibly be able to answer that question without knowing anything about you? Why don't you ask "everyone" who says you're arrogant and see what they have to say? They must have a reason for saying it in the first place.

arrogant:
1. making claims or pretensions to superior importance or rights; overbearingly assuming; insolently proud: an arrogant public official.
2. characterized by or proceeding from arrogance: arrogant claims.

does that sound like you...
are you overbearing..

do you know when to ask for help or do you just assume you can do it because your "smarter" than that

Why don't you ask them to be more specific. Ask as if you really want to know what they think, and listen to their answers.
