As I read the clearly-marked "AM" and "VT" responses in R&S, I find an eery cult-like consistency among the responses. And I'm not talking about answers that consistently reflect a thoroughly vetted philosophy, but rather a consistent use of keywords that express a simplistic idea. So is there some sort of underground cult meeting place where atheists agree upon certain keywords while chanting above a bust of Charles Darwin? Or is atheism just some sort of low-level pavlovian response to religion that invokes identical responses?

Your sophomoric question is transparently posed to convey your bias against freethinkers. How typically Christian of you.

Religion is a huge topic: even so, you'll find common words and themes repeated within and between religions. As you narrow the scope of discussion to specific religions, you can expect recurrent themes and ideas to increase. If you narrow the scope further, to the atheist/believer dispute, the language used becomes even more limited. Naturally.

Instead of offering a thought-provoking question, you put your ignorance on display, via critical generalizations.

I have no idea what "AM" or "VT" mean -- but I do know that generalizations are a hallmark of simplistic and hypocritical fools.

That was funny until you got nasty about it-so say your sorry for acting in an un- Christian manner
There's a concept in the evolution of all things -including machines- called Parallel Evolution .
The idea behind Parallel Evolution is usually summed by saying that "similar environments will produce similar morphologies "
If many different atheists followed a similar path to arrive at their atheism then it would make sense that they would express themselves in a similar manner
On a side note :Despite my professional cooking skills I have yet to be invited to an atheist pot -luck supper no less a formal dinner where the bust of Darwin was made from marzipan. I have however been to a formal dinner where the bust of Escoffier was present

If you recognize any echoes of cultism, it's because that is where you are coming from. All religions are based on one specific book and certain phrases and scriptures are often used. In all the Christian posts here, all the answers are pat and obviously drilled into pastors in their theology schools. I think that if you look further...the atheists that are AM and VT are friends and therefore may have a tendency to think alike. They may discuss their beliefs with each other for all you know. Since people like you love to generalize, maybe you should read the answers (and questions) of those who don't prescribe to AM and VT. I have to say, that since you are the one who brought up Charles Darwin...you also are in danger of sounding repetitiously cult-like in a fundamental Christian sort of way.

If they are expressing a simple concept, there are going to be common keywords because, on this site, they use a common language.

Atheists here tend to have 2 concepts that are diametrically opposed to christians, evolution and the existence of god, These, therfore would contain much common language. It's not an indication of limited intelligence but limited subject matter.

Christians on the other hand have a complete belief system with an omnipresent being at it's head but are still only able to use the limited vocabulary that you accuse atheist of using.

It's not a matter of limited intelligence, but limited in the number of correct responses we can give.

With the Christians constantly throwing the same old (easily refuted) arguments at us, it's no suprise that our answers all seem the same, because they're based on common sense and rationality.

Besides, what's wrong with putting AM in our names? It just shows a sense of unity among the atheists here. Not cult-like at all. In fact, we all got the idea from a Christian.

Atheism has some very basic ideas when it comes to religion, we don't buy into it. The stock answers pretty much apply to most questions. If theists would come up with something more challenging we could probably use something other than auto-response.

because the questions have been asked so many times, its easy to figure out a common answer and answer consistently with it.

though technically, the same SHOULD be true for christians. which i sad that its not. when you have a holy book you deem as "from god" but you cannot agree on what it means...

it seems to me you admit there is a unity within the atheist community that you know doesnt exist within the christian community. i am going to assume your jealous of this seeing as you wish to make absurd claims such as, "...underground cult meeting place where atheists agree upon..."

christians get their cutesy responses down at their cult meetings in churches all over the country. WWJD?

we do not agree on answers, we give mostly the same answers because we follow the directions, usually, of common sense and reason, whereas christians make up their philosophy and doctrine on the run.

I think you are just jealous that you do not have such an eloquent vocabulary.

Yes there are secret meetings...you so busted everyone on this. I must now call the council and change the meeting place...

You are generalizing good sir, not all VTs are atheists. I would also, sincerely hope, that though we may have similarities when it comes to humor, that we are not brainwashed to think the same.
