bought a gun at a gun shop and wants to sell it to a dealer. What needs to be done?

It depends on who you are selling it to and what state you live in. In IL I have to have a bill of sale or transfer on file and verify that person has a Firearms Owner Identification Card or FOID. Just to cover my own butt.....I have never sold a firearm to anyone though. I have traded two one firearm for another at a FFL dealer and sold one on consignment with another dealer. That is the best way to go. It keeps things clean and easy...
