Honestly, a local Baptist church had its parishioners hand out little comic books on Halloween telling little kids that it doesn't matter if they are good people or not; if they don't accept Jesus as their lord and savior then they will go to Hell.
Apparently, according to this, it is Satan who tells people that being a good person is important. God tells us to be Christians, because that is the ONLY thing that matters.

Check out 777, apparently God is on here. I have seen Satan on here several times, but this is the first time God has seen fit to bless me with his good graces; and such a message of love he has to share.

To all of you, who want to tolerate religion, just remember that its followers will not extend the same courtesy to you. Please, don't be ignorant of the true history and motives of Christianity and the other monotheistic religions. They are religions of intolerance, terror and censorship. Don't confuse their current bout of impotence with tolerance. The inquisition is always their goal.

I have heard of some groups doing stuff like this. It is just these people trying to rule thru fear. Luckily, there are lots of people smart enough to see thru this. Sad there are some who are not that smart.

Jack Chick isn't new. I remember seeing his tracts lying around public restrooms in the '60s. His is an extreme, but very consistent, evangelical interpretation of scripture that many literalists agree with. They've gone through all the ambiguities and rendered definitive interpretations that determine that, surprise, only people who are just like them will go to heaven.

Why is doing good bad? Because that would be "works"! Yeah! Trying to EARN your way in with your pitiful do-gooder antics (just like those miserable Catholic idolators). You can't impress God that way. Only flattery can get you in.

i think there should be a law against handing political/religious material to children
only their parents have a right to talk to them about such issues
the only exception is a private religious school , it's expected of them to be biased towards their beliefs and parents willingly enrolled their children
if i had children in such a neighborhood then i would either move or warn my children from accepting anything from strangers which i would do anyways, at least booklets are harmless, i could think of worse stuff to hand out to kids on halloween

This would explain why I stay away from baptist churches. No offense, I know a lot of baptist people who are great, but some of the beliefs in some of these churches borders on hatemongering. Unfortunately, a lot of people equate christianity with certain denominations, which basically gives us all a bad name.

No this is not nor should be regarded as normal behaviour.

From what I've seen of Chick comics their creator definitely seems to be had some mental health issues as well as just having been plain stupid and ignorant!

I think several someones in your local Baptist church also have "issues"!

Let me guess ... they also think courthouses should have extra large copies of the Ten commandments in the lobby ?

No its not normal but its funny as hell.

I love chick tracts they are as far from Christianity as you can get and still be called a church

They make great reading though. My favorite is the on about how the Pope is Satan incarnate

And if you dont accept Mohammad's words, you are going to hell too, and if you dont eat your peas, you are going to hell, and if you sin, hell... So what the "hell" is the alternative? It is like asking which religion is right. If I were there, I would tell the church folks that they are going to hell because they are not showing filal piety to me and my child by giving them nazi propaganda.

The church was doing a service, warning children about life's consequences. We will all stand before God at judgment . Chick is doing a good job getting the word of God out.
