Many Christians demonize and take any and every opportunity to discredit non-Christians. Atheists are immoral because it elevates the status of Christians everywhere when this garbage is spread to others.

Think about it.

That is such a generalization. I'm a Christian and believe only the atheists who break the law are immoral; not all of them. That doesn't go without saying that there are many Christians who are immoral as well and just use Christianity as an excuse for everything.

Saying that is like saying all Muslims are terrorists or that all black people think that everyone is racist toward them (neither are true, this is just an example). There are just a few that skew your view of people and make everyone like them look bad.

I am a Christian & I dont think morality is based on ANY religion. As a christian I should have good morals but we dont always as it shows in some "so called christians" that show hatred towards anyone with a different belief than them. Just like some atheists have good morals & some dont, some buddist have good morals & some dont. I think it is based on the person & their own personal moral code.

I can respect what you have to say and I think everyone pretty much knows wrong from right, Christian or not. I am a Christian, but I know what my life was like before and I have no right to judge anyone's morals.

In its truest form, Christianity is about the fact that we have ALL made mistakes, or sinned against God. Some more than others, but NO ONE is perfect except Jesus. Being a just judge, God says all sin is worthy of punishment. Jesus came to pay the punishment that I, and anyone else who is not perfect deserved.

If you read the gospels, Jesus was always in trouble with the ruling religious types of His day for hanging out with sinners while they would rather judge them so they would feel better about themselves. Many Chistians forget that and also forget what their life was like before they invited God in. In the purest form, Christianity is and always will be about love, not judgement. What WE decide to do with the love that God extends to us is our choice.

Not all atheists are, but there is a strong correlation between atheism and moral relativity. Moral relativity denotes that morality is determined by the individual and hence immorality can be incorrectly perceived as moral. Given that atheism has no true basis for morality, it's only natural that atheists would be viewed with suspicion.

*drink* Oh well. More Christians are in American prisons than any other religious group. And less Atheists are in prison per capita than any other religious group. I could logically break down morality, and what it means, and how blindly following orders is in no way morality until I'm blue in the face but it wouldn't make a scratch of an impact on their decision to hold to their dogma and their prejudice.

i don't think atheists are immoral...i'm a u.s. Christian.

killing someone is not the only immoral activity, is it?

but ask yourself this...what stops you from killing? fear of the law? fear of societal disapproval?

if a book or a boogeyman would stop some of the killing in this world...i'd vote for it...

but on the other hand, as a Christian im looked at as stupid, brainwashed and lacking logic. and by you referring to God as a boogeyman i can tell your in that group. so while you continue to whine about Christians, take a second and realize your in the same boat.

What does someones right to choose religion or no religion have to do with being immoral?????

–adjective 1. violating moral principles; not conforming to the patterns of conduct usually accepted or established as consistent with principles of personal and social ethics.
2. licentious or lascivious.

Having or not having morals has nothing to do with religion.
