5 days ago I had a lower left molar extracted. About 3 days ago I started to develop a nasty, salty taste in my mouth. No matter what I do it won't go away. And its progressively getting worse. I am on antibiotics and I went back to my dentist today and he said everything seems fine. I asked him about the taste in my mouth and he said he's never heard of that before and just gave me a dental rinse(mouthwash.) Is there anyone that has had this problem or knows anything about it?

Anytime you have an extraction, you can get a different taste in your mouth. Also, some antibiotics cause a change in taste, so ask your pharmacist if it could be the antibiotics you are tasting.

Mouthwash with Hydrogen Peroxide, it will bubble any contaminants out and heal the extraction site.
