My wife drove 2 hours to go the the new IKEA Store
Is it really that great?

I've read what everyone else says about the affordability, and that is true... but if you have to spend all of that $$ on fuel to get there, then I think it kind of defeats the purpose. I'm sure she could find stuff just a cool in your home town or online.

The combination of affordability along with the selections of layouts from tiny 300 sq ft living spaces to huge areas. I also like the minimalist styles. I think you might enjoy it if you went. If not, search something close by that you'd enjoy while your wife wandered Ikea.
BTW, the cafeteria food is GREAT........and very inexpensive

That is a matter of opinion, as it literally IS a big box store. It has a restaurant that serves wonderful swedish meatballs and does have inexpensive furniture and home accessories. Those at the lower end of the disposable income scale often find their merchandise great for starter homes and first apartments until they discover that the quality isn't lifelong.

ikea is amazing. from furniture to home decoration to seasonal holiday items there's something for everyone. also, a lot of ikea's stuff is really different from what you see in mass retailers like target and walmart but the prices are very reasonable.
my husband and i are going to buy some of their amazing holiday ornaments and decorations very soon. also, i have a couple of pieces of furniture from there and i LOVE them.

Affordability , is the main concept . It's good for students or someone that is just beginning setting up a home .

cheap and good furniture... good food...and if you want to refurnished your house.... they have this software you could download... where you could design it on your own and give you an extimate on how much it will cost you to furnish that room... the good this is it can also give you a 3d view... Ikea really know how to kill small bussiness interior contractor

yes! it's amazing. the furniture is really cool, modern, and it makes me happy! (and the food is really good too...)
and it's all very cheap.
maybe next time, you should accompany her, and form your own opinion.
(i hope your car gets good gas mileage)
