OK, I'm searching the market at the moment for some audio equipment for my car. Really, I dont have much knowledge on the subject except i want something that will kick out high quality base and sound great. And also impress!

How can you tell if a Sub, Amp or Speakers are actually any good?

Have a budget of 160 for this at the moment.

Is this any good?

Look for amps that are CEA-2006 compliant and typicallay a sub that have a sensitivity of 91dB or higher is recommended.

While I've had experience with home audio, I haven't kept up with developments in car audio. However, let me offer this: you may get a good system that pumps out lots of volume, but be aware that prolonged exposure to loud sound of any kind can damage your hearing over time. If you're OK with the concept of having to use hearing aids as early as your 40's or 50's, then go ahead and blast away to impress yourself and all those within a one-mile radius.

That being said, I can give you a number of basic principles:
1. Be sure the speakers you select are properly matched to the output of the amplifier, both in power capacity (watts) and in impedance (ohms). If any speaker is under-rated in terms of power, playing it at loud volume will damage it and eventually fry the voice coil. If any speaker is under-rated in terms of impedance, playing it at loud volume will damage the output section of your amplifier.

2. Some municipalities have noise bylaws, in favor of those who don't want to hear your impressive sound system going by their house or place of business. Before cranking up the volume, be sure you know what those laws say. Otherwise an even louder noise, in the form of a police car siren, will interfere with your enjoyment of your music.

In my experience, you get what you pay for. If you get a cheap amp and sub it won't sound all that great. The best thing to do with limited funds is to buy quality items one at a time as you can afford them.

For feeding music to the audio gadget, comparable stuff. for procuring means to the amps, ought to be plenty extra advantageous because of the fact of decrease voltage. And earlier you waste extremely some funds blowing out your ears, making it difficult to concentration on site visitors, and demanding the heck out of your friends, why no longer basically positioned on earphones rather of transforming into a wheeled growth field?

what you found for the money is not bad, i really like the sub, but the amp....iiieeee really dont like it, cheap quality, but for 160 for the package, thats pretty good. typically i would say a sub, speakes , amp and deck is around $500US min. so whats that like 375 pounds? for a deck i receomend pioneer premier or alpine. anything with that name will be a quality deck.
