It is odd how a 3 year old little girl deserved to die. And not one christian will explain it. They will leave it up to god's will and/or it is something we can't understand because we are not god.

They wouldn't have to be all horribly evil or all murderers to merit destruction.
Noah and his family not only built the ark, they preached to the people and warned them. Their "sin" was laughing at their rescuers....you don't blame a person in a burning building if he laughs at the fireman trying to save him and he says the fireman is crazy, there is no fire.
2 Peter 2:5 (AS)
and spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Matthew 24:14, 37-39 (AS)
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
And as [were] the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
The people just refused to go with them or help. Noah was given 120 years as a time frame to do this work....it took about half that time.

Though this is just a fairy tale, I'll entertain it for boredom's sake.
Apparently, they were all evil enough to warrant their deaths, otherwise God wouldn't have killed each and every one of them.
If not, that would mean that God was unjust.
EDIT: There were no crimes, mate. God just wanted to kill them. You can't so much deep meaning to a story that's just made up.

There was only violence earth wide. Noah born year 1056, was age 600 Gen.7:6; at flood year 1656 years, God sacrificed the life sustaining earth to save Noah and his family. WHAT GOD WILL DO FOR A FEW DECENT ONES.
So from Adam's sin, there was no law and order established and evil was for angel's and man, angels producing giants that could not reproduce from the females of mankind, so after the flood, evil was still the rule Gen.8:21; The imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth. WHY DIDN'T GOD JUST WIPE IT ALL OUT, THAT WOULD BE SO EASY. Age is getting shorter after the life sustaining earth is lost.
Shem will have 502 years life after the flood. to die year 2158.
Abraham life is 175 years and he will died 25 years after Shem at year 2183.
Gen.14:1-18;
How much law and order [ Sodom & Gomorrah did not even have 10 people 450 years after the flood ], has been established 527 years after the flood, at the death of Abraham, just a few more people than those named below.
Shem, Lot, Abraham, Ishmael, Melchizedek, Isaac to year 2288, and Jacob
will go to Rameses Egypt Gen.47:9,11; age 130 at year 2298. Gen.46:27; 70 people in his family. So 642 years after the flood, the Promised Land is filled with Land pirates and Jacob is in Egypt 215 years after the promised Land covenant to Abraham. Gen.47:28; Jacob dies age 147, year 2315, 659 years after flood. Joseph is age 57, he has 53 years a governor in Egypt world Empire #1, to die age 110, year 2368, 712 years after flood. Moses will be born year 2433, 777 years after flood, they will all be in bondage to Egypt and infant males are order killed by Pharoah [ a relative that is in disquise ]. Moses is saved.
Moses will be the one to give the law to 603,550 heirs, to be law givers, law keepers and law enforcers on the face of the earth before God and we all know what that means even until today.

Capital punishment is something reserved for sin! "For the wages of sin is death" the Bible says. God does not answer to the US's legal system! God the law that governs this world, if a person lies that is enough ground for God to kill a person. If a person thinks about lying that is enough ground for God to kill a person. Thanks God He is not only just but merciful!

They had turned away from God and wouldn't change, God made the decision to wipe them out. God gave them ample chance to change and they refused.

Our sin nature, which all human beings share, makes us worthy of judgement and death in the eyes of a Holy God. Only through repentance and trusting God for salvation can one be saved from judgement. Noah demonstrated this and was saved. Today, Jesus is our "ark" of safety if we place our trust in Him.

Do not read your US legal system into Noah's days.
Have you heard of the word "anachronism"?
