Daiwa is a Japanese company, but like other Japanese makers, they have facilities all over Asia. I have two of them, one is made in Thailand, and the other is from Japan. I believe that I have also seen them coming from Malasyia, and Singapore.

The answer about Cerritos is correct, but that is for sales, service, and distribution. No manf. takes place at that facility.

Add on: The best quality, higher end reels usually come from the facilities in Japan. This is true for Daiwa and Shimano.
