Who are they trying to fool?

I seriously question the sincerity of people like Lee Strobel. I find it difficult to believe any half-witted atheist would be convinced by the junk evidence in "The Case for Christ", and the book is so blatantly biased, that he could not have been an atheist when he started researching it.

It's a good marketting gimic though.

I only know it's true for my husband. I, on the other hand was a religious Christian, but I wasn't born again until after I got involved in the occult, etc. I know several people that were Atheists before they got saved, but most of the born-again believers are like myself. We went from the Christianity that was in our minds and when we surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ we had a born-again experience.

Nobody likes to admit or believe that anyone could switch from something akin to his or her own point of view to another point of view. It is a pride thing - even atheists want to believe their position is so enlightened that nobody could countenance leaving it.

Christians are much the same - when a Christian becomes an atheist, they typically express skepticism that the individual ever was a Christian.

As I said, it is a universal pride thing.

wow.. that is pure logic.. You got a mind like a stell trap. It is a simple transition. Just like the atheists that were christians. you can't be both at the same time.

I think your are confused. More people go from being a theist to being atheist then the other way around. But to answer your question, they were most likely agnostic to start with.

I think it's funny that atheists acknowledge the existence of God so that they can defy him. It's obviously in the back of their mind, so when a miracle or something only from God happens, they just so happen to recognize Him and start their walk with him.

It's the whole concept of "Don't think of a pink elephant". I'm not worried about it all though, my God works in mysterious ways and He is the only judge of people here on Earth, regardless of what they look like or what their religion is -- only judges by their character. That's an awesome God right there...
