I've just completed an essay on my laptop using ms word 2007, so i used my dongle onto the computer with ms word 2003 because it has the PRINTER. However i can't open it. It say's it's a DOCX file. Can anyone help?

Open your document on your laptop and Save As a Word 2003 document (bottom drop down box in the Save As screen).

No Office software is forwards compatible, but all newer versions of Office allow you to save in previous versions.

Download the Microsoft Compatibility Pack from the link below. This will allow users of Microsoft Office 2003 to open Microsoft Office 2007 files.

They updated how the file is saved in MS Word 2007. The only way around it is when you are saving it in MS Word 2007, instead of saving it as a word document, save it as plain text. That will let you load it into 2003 however, you will loose all of your formatting (boldetc.). There is no current solution to this problem according to microsoft.
