if you are talking after pass in review: uniform of the Day is your dress uniform. period. you are NOT authorized to wear anything else.

the dungaree uniform( dark blue slacks and lighter blue shirt) is NOT authorized for wear off base in any circumstance unless you are dropping off or picking up children at daycare or similar(running errands to and from work only).

once you hit the Fleet, the uniform of the day will vary and that may be worn off base( current Johnny Cash, for instance, the winter working uniform, may be worn off base) The new working uniform( BDU style) will NOT be authorized for off base wear.

First day you are in dress blues, the rest of the weekend you switch to working blues. Coolest thing to do on liberty? Eating fast food for the first time in 2 months!!!

as far as i know, you cannot wear your working blues off base, generally. you must wear dress blues or dress whites. and i expect that for someone graduating, you would be expected to dress as formally as possible while out and about.
