Here are some tips:

Put a piece of your unwashed clothing outside, the cat knows your smell and the wind will carry your scent and the cat can follow it back home. Also you can show a picture to your mail man, he/she is out traveling your area and can let you know if he/she has spotted the cat hanging out up the street. You might also want to try and ask neighbors, perhaps the cat got stuck in a neighbors garage or basement. Good Luck...

YES !! But It Depends On What Sort Of Cat It Was?
House Cat
Or an Outdoor Cat

The Cat Will Have Left Its Sent So It Will Know Where To Go Back to.

If Someone Has Hurt the cat I Think It Would Go Back To The Owner. Unless It Cant Walk. If They Have Hurt It Badly.

I HOPE HE FINDS HIS CAT!!

GOOD LUCK:)

I think the cat has gone to another home. Was the cat neutered/spade? If is wasn't it is more than likely to have gone off territory and can't find it's way home. It has probably found a new home. You do sometimes hear of cases where cats come home after months and even years. Good Luck!

Well, there is hope! Put out some lost cat signs. About 5 or 6 years ago, one of my cats ran away, he was gone for about 2 weeks, but he came back.

Also, when I was a little girl, my dad had to take two of our cats and drop them off in this filed about 2 miles away from where we lived. I was so sad, but we weren't allowed to keep them. They came back 2 days later. Pawing at the backdoor. My dad decided to sneak and keep them. I was SO happy. I still have one of them, the other died from old age.

Lots of chances! The cat could have just gone for a wander (they do that a lot - especially if it hasn't been spayed/neutered).
Tell him not to giveup hope yet.
Take a photo ofthe cat to all the local vets justin case someone takes it in there - that is whereI would take an animal if I found one.

cats have been known to dissapear for a while and return months later! depends on if the cat has found an oap's house and is getting titbits of food. put some 'missing' posters up in local shop and supermarket notice boards and windows, you never know who might have an idea of where the wee guy is!

the chance of it isn't good. try posting flyers and if the cat comes back or is found then get tags for it... or have a chip put in. it doesn't cost much. that way if the cat is lost again then they can track it with the chip... my dogs have one!

I think the chances are not very good, but miracles do happen! I have indoor cats only and once one got out and was gone for six weeks. I really thought he was gone for good but one night the neighbor's dog was freaking out at one of the cars on the street and lo and behold, there was my precious Harley, dirty, scared and hungry hunkering under the car!

Has he checked with the local human society or animal shelter? A lot of times they end up there and people don't even think to call and check.
