you can't really trust their word if you're worried about being scammed

go there physically, and drive the car around, see if it runs smooth

check all the fluids and mechanical work yourself

or take it to a certified mechanic to check it out

Insist that a mechanic, of your choosing, inspects the car before you buy it. Also, check out the car online with carfax or one of those other companies. You will need the VIN number for that. If the person is legit, then these conditions should not be a problem.

Are there no cars in Utah? Don't take a chance buying one that is off in another state. If you cannot personally inspect the car before you buy it then do not buy it. To do otherwise is asking to be scammed.

Nothing. They will just tell you that everything is okay. You must get it looked over in person by a TRUSTED mechanic. Also a report from Carfax and/or AAA would help.

you cant prove anything online. the best way is to go to the dealers yourself and look at the car yourself.
