It is not okay...no matter how mature they are or how much you trust them. They should wait a lot longer ....like when they are married.
I am not an old fuddy dud..... but this is a line I wouldn't let any of my children cross.

Oh give me a break Mum, what on earth are you thinking.
She is 12 for goodness sake! I think you have hit the nail on the head when you state "they are both very mature" but as for "they will not abuse that trust". Act like a mother, and protect your daughter from stupid mistakes, especially at age 12.
WHAT?????
They should wait a bit longer". What for? Are you admitting that they intend to have sex, and you think that PROBABLY they should wait?
WOW! I have answered a lot of questions in the last couple of months, but this one floors me. I cannot believe that any mother would be that gullible as to let her 12 year old daughter's boyfriend, sleep in her daughter's room
Wonder if you will feel this way in a year, when you have to look after a baby, because the boyfriend suddenly realizes that he is not old enough to be a father. Your 14 year old could be a mother.
Well - there isn't much more I can say. I just CANNOT understand your thinking.
Mother of 6 adults
s12 grandchildren.

A 12 year old should not be allowed to even have a boyfriend. What on earth is wrong with you .
Trust ? You are out of your mind . Hormones are stronger than will power . Kids that age and horny as heck find a way to connect as soon as you shut your eyes and fall asleep . I bet you want to close all the doors too so they have privacy . Your daughter needs a strong hand and a mother that is a parent not an enabler .

I have been divorced for some time. When my girls reached the age of 15 they asked the same question. The answer was always NO NO NO. The girls stayed with their mother and she let the boyfriends stay over. I found out when the girls came to me and told me they were pregnant. So if you like being called Gram-ma or Gran-pa. Knock yourself out. The thing is think of the affects on your daughters life. She would be so much better off if she finished college before she crossed the motherhood bridge.

For goodness sake! I can't believe you would even ask this question. This is a joke right?? You need some serious help with parenting skills. Of course it is NOT ok. A 12 year old is too young for a boyfriend let alone be allowed to have him stay the night.

I would never let my son stay the night his girlfriends house or let her stay the night at our house. and i will be damned if there going to stay in the same room. You need to be a parent and stop trying to be her best friend, and let her know that its inappropriate to have a boy stay the night let alone stay in her room. What has happened to parents today were they thinks its OK to let there children do this. Do you know that's the # 1 cause of teen pregnancy is parents like you that let there children have there BF or GF stay the night.

What alternate universe are we in where 12 year olds by any stretch of the imagination can be considered "mature" or have boyfriends- let alone boyfriends their parents would consider allowing to spend the night?????
There's no need for a BABY (which is what she is) to be dating- let alone spending the night with a boy.

Wait longer? No way! If they get any older, the answer will definitely have to be no. They may be too old now. I suggest you make it into a slumber type party. Have him bring a sleeping bag and you guys, including you on the sofa, spread out in the den or the living room.
They may be good trustworthy children but soon hormones will hit! LOL!

That's WAY too young to let them sleep in the same room. One thing leads to another, and at that age there is a lot of curiosity going on. I personally think that at age 12 it is too young for her to be dating. She should be concentrated more on school work, sports, extra curricular activities.

Okay... who owns the home? Is it you or her? Bottom line, 13 year olds should have limits and boundaries... she needs them and down deep, she wants them. Never in a million years would I let that happen at my house. You are asking to be a grandmother soon if you do. One thing leads to another...
