A great idea I heard was from a friend who, for her second anniversary, got really great tickets to a concert that wanted, since the tickets are made of cotton fibers. It was a great gift and a pretty tricky way to present cotton as a present. Also, you could go with the modern anniversary gifts (which for a second anniversary is china).

U are absolutely right in choosing theme as cotton, but i don't understand why dresses are your last resort . If your girlfriend is a indian by her heart then trust me she is going to love a saree or salwar that suits her accompanied with a surprise date & boqute of red roses will do the trick . Yes but make sure u gift her even no of roses like 20,50 or100.

There are many varieties in cotton (Gossypium spp.). There is ornamental cotton plant, too. You can gift such plant. You can also gift beutiful cotton flowers. Many people (like in rural India) prepares beutiful handicrafts out of cotton-eg.doll. You can gift that. You can write something on paper made of cotton fibres and gift that.

Girlfriend? So your not married?

By the second year of going out with someone you should really be looking to propose and get married!

The whole themed anniversary doesn't start until after you're husband and wife.

Incase you are married but just refer to her as girlfriend (tut tut) then how about a couple of expensive cushions or pillow cases with your names sewn into them? Or a couple of luxury towels or something like that - his and hers :)

If you're in high school... settle for a nice cotton nightie or robe. You're only in High school!
