My mother is 46 and is dating a 23 yr old guy. I know exactly how you feel, it really sucks at first. But if the person is good to your parent, and to you, then you learn to really appreciate that person. Little by little you stop feeling uncomfortable, I know because it happened to me.

Luckily, in both our cases (yours and mine), we happen to like the people our parents are dating. I promise that the feeling will go away, just don't spend toooo much time with them when they are together. And if you wait some time to see how you adjust to the person, like I did, you will save yourself from a very uncomfortable conversation with your father.

No it isnt. A 22 year old is basically a child compared to a 48 year old. You have lived their life more than TWICE! A 22 year old has no real life experience and is basically a baby in an adult body. You will be looked at as a sick person for dating such a young person. People will assume the 22 yr old is YOUR CHILD.

Well if your Dad and her are madly in love her, and all you can do is be supportive of him. Hey sounds cool to have a MOM who can go out with you and know what's going on around you and her. So if she loves her then just be there for him. Maybe later he will realize the age difference.

Just be honest. But do be aware that it's his and her life and some "May/December" couples make lasting unions that go on 30, 40 years or more. As you get older it will matter less and less.

wow, you sound like my one friend, her dad married a lady who was the same age as her 22 year old sister, and i think that he is in his 50s. its really hard, but you should talk to your dad about this, my friend didn't talk to her dad and now they barely talk and she dislikes him so much. they used to be really close. talk to your dad before your relationship is over and ruined. it much be weird and i cannot relate, but i feel for you, it must be really hard.

You should get over it and let your father be happy. Unless she is just after his money or something. Either that or you could ask him how he would feel if you started dating a 40 yr old man...
