So can God create a rock so heavy that even he cannot lift it?

If he can, then the rock is unliftable, limiting God's power.

But if he cannot, then he is still not omnipotent.

I didn't mean to say that I don't believe in God, I just wanted input on what everyone thinks of this question.
The answer is that this question is meaningless.
Asking "Can God create a rock so heavy that even he cannot lift it?" is just as much nonsense as asking "Can God draw a square circle?"

Will you allow a nonsensical question of illogic keep you out of heaven?

First of all, God is logical. God can not contradict Himself as your question supposes.

Second of all, when you are without sin, when you can sit on the edge of eternity and view the universe as though it were a ball in the palm of your hand, and yet see every detail clearly, when you can transcend both space and time, THEN come back and ask your question. (And can you cease to exist to that the rest of us would have more air to breath?)

This is a classic philosophy argument, one I recall from freshman philosophy...heck, it even ranks up there with is hell endothermic or exothermic. The caveot here is, why would God waste His time making something that He could or couldn't life. Ultimately, its a fools errand..which explains why so many flock to it. Put your brain around this one...if you were Omnipotent, would you waste your time of fruitless endeavors such as this. Besides you miss the fundamental component of Omnipotence, that being the Apex. Therefore, yes God could be in a position to lift anything and everything He created and would not need to create anything He could not lift, as there is nothing present that can reach that magnitude. Reason being, infinity resides within the realm of Omnipotence and therefore cannot result in the development of something beyond infinity because infinity's definition is simply that without end. So, mathematically, this question is mute and irrelevant because infinity does not allow for an answer.

It's really not that hard to answer.

No, he CANNOT make a rock so heavy he can't lift it. If he could it would create a paradox. That means that there is something he can't do. That means he's not omnipotent.

It's only a paradox if you assume he's omnipotent.

EDIT: The question is NOT meaningless. It means he can't be omnipotent. He can't draw a square circle, so he's not omnipotent. Done.

The problem is not whether being omnipotent is possible. The problem is how a being can exist which is both omnipotent and omniscient, since the two cancel each other out. The concept of god is self-defeating.

Your assumption is wrong when you stated that God can have limited power which is not an attribute of God. God power is infinite.

I am sure that the power of God, referred to in the word "omnipotence" has little to do with God's physical strength.

But nice try

This is what happens when you start playing 'My god is bigger than your god' with the other priests, and someone trumps it all with "Oh yeah? Well, /my/ god is /infinitely/ powerful!"
