You are to love your enemies. This is what God says. If in fact we are Christians(i am) our enemies are to see Christ in us. As Christians we are to set ourselves apart, we are different because Jesus is the difference in our lives. So how can we say we are different if in fact we are not loving those who offend us? We are not called to love Satan because he is a lion seeking to devour us. Yes he is an enemy-but the word of God calls us to despise him not love him.

Different book in the Bible. They had real problems with the continuity of the Shared Creative Universe back then. Even Thievesworld had some wild pitches in it ;). Hey, why is the Transporter malfunctioning every time they could use it to fix something they have used it to fix before? Continuity problems! Cheap fix is to say Satan does not count - or that he has been invaded by an "entity" and will not be available to be loved for the rest of the episode.

Satan is not AN enemy, he is THE enemy. He is evil. Evil cannot and should not be loved. I do not, and never plan to, love Satan. When God said to love your enemies, he meant people who were created in the image and likeness of God, and who have faults and virtues just like the rest of us.

The bible is a tricky book to read and you have to think of it the way you think it was meant. Yes God does say to love your enemies. I for one think it means don't hold grudges, kill with kindness. Don't talk down to people even if they have hurt you. Satan to me is an enemy, do I love him? In a way I do, without him I wouldn't appreciate the good God does for me.

Satan is not a human. He is not "an" enemy, he is THE enemy. In Genesis 3, when God curses Satan, God says: "I will place enmity between you and the woman, between her offspring and yours; he will crush your head and you will strike his heel."
GOD is the one who placed enmity (hatred) between mankind (His creation) and Satan (the destroyer, the father of lies). We are indeed NOT to love Satan but to be aware of how dangerous and untrustworthy he is. He wants to take God's place and His glory.
That's enough for me.

Love means putting another person's needs ahead of your own. Accepting and nurturing Satan, however metaphorical he may be, and who is completely turned into Ego and evil, would be hate and not love. One of the few examples where loving someone means unconditional rejection. [I think the most loving thing I could have done to Hitler is put a bullet in his head.]
