it depends upon your own weight and strength of ur upper budy, esp. chest. if i assume correctly u never have done any kinda powerlifting let alone bench press. if thats correct u dont wanna start with 130 lbs. and moreover u need someone to assist u with bench press, so get a well informed exercise buddy or get assistance of a gym instructor.
take care dude. -aaveg.

Well that depends on you! I bench 315 now but when i started i worked out with 135. If you are trying to strenght train then you need to do low reps with high amount fo weight. For example, If i do 135 with 3 sets of 3-4 and i really have to push my self on the last rep, then its a suitable weight. To tone muscle you want to do lower weight and higher reps. I typically will try and do 15-20 reps with a weight that pushs me to my limit when i reach my last rep.

If your just starting, give your muscles that you work out a day of rest. Upper body 1 day then lower the next is a good plan.

If your comfortable with it, go with it. But if it feels too heavy, its not gonna go up too many times.

For higher weight lower reps = gaining mass + size
For lower weight high reps = definition/cuts

I started benching around 130 six months ago, now 225. As long as you push yourself you should be getting closer to your goal

the ability for you to keep proper form during the exercise should dictate the weight that you use. injury occurs in resistance training when weight is substituted for proper form. if you have never benched before most likely you will not be able to lift more than 65% of your bodyweight while keeping perfect form. start with that and see what happens. check the website below for bench form, etc.

depends on you, really. Have someone spot you and try 130lbs If you have no trouble, try something a little heavier. You want to find a weight that you can do 3 sets of 3 or 4 reps with a bit of challenge.

It is hard to say....just start off light around 75 lbs and keep going up until you feel comfortable. Make sure you have someone around to spot you when you start getting up there in weight.
