Um, do you mean answering that question again, or about the fact that the question was asked? I think (as a Christian) that God is sovereign, no one will ever be able to question his wisdom. It's kind of like a dust mite coming up to us and moaning because it can't understand why we do the things we do. The basic problem is the refusal to accept God's will for what it is- something too awesome to comprehend. The penalty for us no longer being affiliated with God (due to sin) is us spending an eternity in isolation from him and everything he provides. I don't think we can understand just how much he provides, or exactly what we would be outside of his presence. He gives us each breath that we take, he instructed the billions of atoms that make up you, to stick around in a spacific way so that you could excist in the first place. Without him, we would be in hell (not the hot fire stuff we imagine but an existance deviod of any life) and we would be there for etenity. Eternity is a really long time. Don't forget that!

Other than that, this is a typical question that a Christian expects from someone who isn't a Christian. God told us we would be having tons of these 2000 years ago, and they just keep coming! I don't think we need to prove ourselves to anyone. In time, people will see and when that time comes, a very simple decision must be made: accept or reject. None of the questioning inbetween stuff.

You point out an obvious flaw in the belief in eternal torment of the wicked. Where is the equity in the sacrifice of Christ with the punishment of those who reject Him? There is no equity. No matter what percentage of Christians claim this doctrine to be true, the fact is that the bible says the wages of sin is death, not eternal life in torment. Death is the price that Christ paid and death is the price an unrepentant sinner will pay.

From my upbringing I would say that "bearing" the sin of everyone existing or going to exist after existing in a sinless state was the sacrifice. It does seem that eternal suffering is still a much greater price to pay, espcially since the sacrifice was a short period and he knew it would end and what the results would be.

Well let me think. In the bible while Jesus was on the cross he said some last words which is interpreted "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? He did this because he was separated from God. He felt all of mans sins and felt the Guilt that everyone had. Since God is perfect he had to reject his son because of the sins of the world. Jesus God's son was sent to die for all of mans sins so we would be able to be accepted into heaven. He was the perfect sacrifice for all of mans sins. I hope this answers you question.

lilmissy hit it if you asked me she explained ir very well. EXCEPT i feel i should emphasize that the sacrafice was an is the only way we could be washed according to scripture BECAUSE the "wages of sin is death" he payed that death for us an only someone without sin could do this. Some people ask on here why did God let the Jews kill him/ IT WAS HIS IDEA!! HIS PLAN It was AWESOME
