I have a cheap 10 buck red laser from office max and i wanted to know if you can modify red lasers especially really cheap ones i dont want to modify it to burn through things but just to be able to see the beam would be great because i dont want to waste my money on some like 100 buck laser

You can only see the beam if there is something in the air to reflect it. Mist and dust will show up the beam (especially at night). Green lasers show up in this way better than red ones. Do not attempt to increase the voltage; you won't get more power but you will fry the diode chip.
