Or is it the same thing?

No difference. All pepper starts out as the peppercorn. I use both. It depends on what you like (taste wise) when there is a difference. The peppers, once ground, tend to lose a lot of their flavor pretty quickly (quickly being days, not minutes, don't worry about rushing when cooking) because like most spices, the flavor is in the plant oils which are often volatile at room temperature (volatile as in they evaporate, not explode.

That little tidbit hopefully helps when you decide whether you want already ground vs the peppercorns you grind yourself.

Peppercorns are the little black round things that grow on the pepper plant. Then they are ground into pepper. So those terms are the same thing. One is just a fancier way of saying it.

No, they are the same thing. Black pepper comes from "corns" that grow on the pepper plant.

These corns are then crushed and bottled or just picked off the plant and put in specific packaging so they can be crushed as they are used, resulting in crushed black pepper.

Watch how you consume them though, they can shock your nasal cavities and cause sneezing.

Spaghetti sauce has a lot more going on in the recipe. It usually has onion and garlic and red pepper flakes in it. Pizza sauce is pretty basic and usually just consists of tomato puree and oregano. It can't be anything too much or it competes with the toppings on the pizza.
