Suicide and soldiers?

Is it viewed as a sin to jump on a grenade to save your fellow soldiers or civilians?

You are voluntarily killing yourself, but you are saving others. Is this viewed as suicide even?
By all definitions it is, but is it wrong?

I think its perfectly allright and is an honorable death, but what do you think?
