Islam is very derivative of Judaism and Christianity. I don't have references, but I agree from what I know of it I can see the parallels--the dietary laws, the sacredness attributed to the Holy Land (Jerusalem in particular), the common ancestry to Abraham, etc.

If anything, it should point to the possibility that there is TRUTH in these three faiths somewhere! Continue studying with much prayer and see if you can find the common elements that will lead you to the ultimate truth.
As a Christian, I believe the truth hinges on Who Jesus is to you---Jews see Him as imposter of promised Messiah, Muslims see Him as prophet equal or lesser to later Mohammed, and Christians see Him as Prophet and Priest and King--God in the flesh.

God bless you!

YOU HAVE ADMITTED THE FACT THAT YOUR STUDY ON QURAN AND BIO OF MOHAMMED IS LIMITED. WITH LIMITED KNOWLEDGE , PLEASE DON'T JUMP TO A CONCLUSION HASTILY.
ALL PROPHETS OR FOUNDERS OF ANY RELIGION HAVE MOST TEACHINGS IN COMMON. ALL HAVE SPOKEN /WRITTEN /PREACHED ALL THE GOOD THINGS PEOPLE SHOULD PRACTISE IN REAL LIFE. THAT BEING THE FACT, THERE IS OBVIOUSLY MANY COMMON WRITINGS ARE THERE IN BOTH QURAN AND OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT.
MOREOVER, MOHAMMED WAS OF THE SAME REGION .......NATURALLY, THERE ARE LOT OF GOOD TEACHINGS HE KNEW ALREADY TOLD BY OTHERS OR PRACTISED BY MANY IN HIS TIME . IT'S NOT WRONG.
THERE WAS NO "PATENT RIGHT" NOR THERE IS EVEN TODAY IN THIS FIELD.
READ SOME OF THE ANCIENT HINDU RELGIOUS BOOKS AND YOU WILL TERM JESUS AS AN UNAUTHORISED PUBLISHER /PREACHER OF MOST HINDU AND BUDDIST TEACHINGS.
SIMILARLY, ANCIENT CHINESE BOOKS OF PHILSOPHER "CONFUCUS(...is it a correct spelling?) states many things which are simply re-written in other holy books
