i guess i needed to rework this question...guess im not the only one with a personallity

Yes, so long as the 220V circuit has the current (circuit breaker) rating for the compressor motor (i.e. a 15 Amp breaker will handle up to about a 3 to 4 HP motor).

The frequency shouldn't matter (50 Hz or 60 Hz). If the motor is 240V 50 Hz and you connect it to 220V 60 Hz it will run a little faster and slightly hotter. If it is the other way around, then it will run a little slower and probably a little cooler.

yes....even if your using a 2 phase system, which is normal in US.
