No, I don't think that would encourage more women to breastfeed.

We all know breastfeeding is better healthwise and many still don't choose to.

I think the answer is in educating women (and men) about the risks of formula, and that it shouldn't be such an easy choice to just use formula. It's meant for mothers who cannot breastfeed, not for ones who choose not to.

It does lower your risk of breast cancer...and ovarian cancer. It's just one of the MANY benefits.

helps prevent SIDS, meningitis, bronchitis, ear infections, colic, diarrhea, food allergies, leukemia, some childhood cancers, and juvenile-onset diabetes for the babies.

Research has shown that the longer you breastfeed, the risks for breast & ovarian cancers goes down, combats post partum depression, helps uterus to regain normal size faster, helps in weight loss for mom.

i think women should be encouraged & supported to try & breastfeed, it's really healthier all around, it is as nature intended. (plus--it's free!)

Breastfeeding not only lowers the MOTHER's chances for developing breast cancer, if she is nursing a baby girl, it lowers that CHILD's chances of developing breast cancer later in life too!

It was one of the things that first got me interested in learning more about breastfeeding. (Both my maternal grandma & great grandma lost breasts to cancer.)
