Yes, and a few lights around it.

Definitely...it is NOT tacky at all. I have a beautiful lucite electric menorah in the window and then one where I light the candles on the kitchen table. I also have two 8' inflatables on the lawn, one is a menorah and the other a Chanukah Bear.

I do. I think it's great to do so because I believe that it brightens people's mood when they look at an electric Menorah outside of the window. I guess, this way some people can tell how many JEWS live in their neighborhood, lol.

We have an electric one among others.

My mother collects menorahs, so we have quite a few of the real ones, and we light at least three each night - one for each member of the family, plus any guests. However, my cat has a habit of knocking over any lit candles lying around, so all of the real menorahs have to go on a special table she's not allowed near.

The electric menorah, on the other hand, we do keep on our dining room table. I know it's a little kitschy, but we "light" it in memory of my grandmother, who always loved using an electric one.

(To an answerer above: with ours, you turn the "flame" sideways to make it go on, so you can have as many lights on as appropriate.)

Happy Chanukah!

No I don't. We use a metal menorah and put it on a table near the window. It would feel really weird to me to "blow out" the Hanukkah candles when you turn it off. Is their a way to have only some candles lit because otherwise it will be all 9 candles every night. That seems to Halmark cliche for me personally, but it depends.

An electric menorah would be great around pets, or small children or in a dorm room (where open flame is usually not allowed). I used one last year to show preschool and kindergarden students how to celebrate hanukah. But I also showed them a traditional menorah.

We have the menorah we received for our wedding using candles or oil and wicks, the children's hanukkiah with colored candles and an electric menorah for the windowsill (safer than candle flames).

The electric menorah has its drawbacks: bulb replacement and fuse replacement. Also, its base is ivory-colored plastic and decidedly tacky-looking up close, but at night, you can't really tell from outside.

So tacky and Christian!

I have more menorahs than I know what to do with...teach Sunday school and we make them in class almost every year, as does my son. I rotate them through the holiday.

This year we made our own candles! No need for an electric one.

ugh!

Some Jewish homes look nice at night from outside when they do that. It is the festival of lights.
