Islam is a religion that provides easy absolutes-if you do these things, God will love you. It is a religion of checklists-I can look at the list and know I am OK if I do these things. It is a discipline in the world that knows little about discipline. People who embrace Islam are loooking for truth and peace. Unfortunately, like all human endeavors, it is subject to manipulation and misuse. That is what we are seeing in the expremest world of Islam today. As an evangelical Christian I am saddened that so many have taken advantage of a religious platform to use it for evil, but Christians have been guilty of that same thing (inquisition, crusades etc.). None of us are perfect!

Surah Al-Baqarah:

1.
Alif-Lâm-Mîm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows
their meanings].

This is the Book (the Qur'ân), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqûn
[the pious and righteous persons who fear Allâh much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds
which He has forbidden) and love Allâh much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has
ordained)].

And who believe in (the Qur'ân and the Sunnah) [] which has been sent down (revealed) to you
(Muhammad Peace be upon him ) and in [the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] which
were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection,
recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.).

They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.
6.
Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad Peace be upon
him ) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.
7.
Allâh has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allâh's
Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment.

Asalamu 'Alaykum, I'm a muslim, and i've read the previous answers to this question, and i must say i'm disgusted by it, but alhamdulilah, i laughed. You all know why? Because in the end those who ill-speak Islam and reject what was revealed in the Qur'an and have not accepted the truth and have not submitted their will to Almighty Allah(arabic for God),those are the ones who are the LOSERS in the end,they are the dwellers of the HELL-FIRE,FOREVER!

and there is no god but God(Allah), Qur'an speaks of Jesus(pbuh), Ibraheem(pbuh), Mary(may Allah be pleased with her), Muhammad(pbuh), and many more messengers that was sent to earth.

Qur'an speaks about things that was just scientifically discovered, and how could that be if the Qur'an was revealed more than 1400 years ago? This is a miracle,isnt it!

I was a hindu before embracing Islam...and these ar some of the things that made me believe that Islam is the ONLY true religion...Laa illaha illAllah!

yes there is so many judgemental things towards islam and muslims but even as a hindu i can say islam is a beautiful religeon and muhhammed (sorry if mispelled) was indeed a knowledgable guy

because they have the fastest birth rate. the conversion rate, in the west at least, is lower than buddhism, hinduism, falung gong, non denominational christianity , secularism and in the UK jedi. FSM seems to be faster growing as well. i'm not being anti islamic, i just hate to see fallacious propaganda like this and creationism flourishing. it's a but thing when the truth is a casualty. it does the propagator of the bad information more harm than good in the end.

In all actuality Paganism has been steadily growing faster than Islam. Many people are noticing that with so many inconsistencies in the middle eastern religions and that much of it is so out dated that many are not turning to it.
I have noticed that more men are turning to Islam or even the Pentecostal and Mormon christian faiths as they get older. I believe it has more appeal because it gives them the Holy right to oppress women and others based on a religious out dated doctrine. On the flip side, more Islamic practicing women are converting to Judeaism or Christianity and even Buddhism and Taoism. They are as tired of oppressive beliefs as their male counterparts. I just hope that what ever path people choose that it will be beneficial for all and that the freedom to be who they are is not blinded by religious laws but of a consciousness of their lives and how they live them.

Because more people are reading the Qur'an and realizing that Islam is the religion of ALLAH(Subhanna wa ta'ala) and that Islam is the religion that God chose for all mankind and Jinn alike and that Islam is the truth.

I've read Al-Qu'ran, four times. I found nothing in it of Truth. I remain an atheist.

The reason people believe in it is that it gives them a vehicle for feeling they are special, others aren't, and it justifies them to take any action against those who do not follow as they do.
