Funding organizations include governments (through grants to and contracts with nonprofits/NGOs), corporations (through grants and partnerships), small businesses, universities (through grants to and contracts with nonprofits/NGOs), and nonprofits/NGOs themselves (through sub contracts with other nonprofits/NGOs).

If you want direct connections with funding organizations, than get the word out about your organization to funding organizations in your own community. Don't ask them for money -- instead, invite them to come and see, onsite, in-person, the work your organization is doing and the impact it is having. Invite their employees to volunteer with your organization. Have all of your paperwork ready for their review (your budget, your record of expenditures, the names of your board, etc.). Funding bodies fund organizations with which they have firsthand knowledge of, and that they KNOW are credible.
