Hello, I am looking for Ideas for a 8 year old girl Birthday party. Cheap, since it is right before xmas.
I was thinking somewhere in the line of a slumber party but didn't know any activities to do and how to go about it. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Annystel

My favorite parties as a young girl were the traditional slumber parties. Homemade pizza- popcorn-music. Maybe they could go Christmas caroling, a thing of the past!!
Good Luck!!

Do you have a tent? Set it up in the living room. Have videos, cards, etc. Go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels and buy several sets of different crafts for the girls to do. Then let them roast marshmallows (hot dogs?) in the fireplace. Make it a campout birthday slumber party.

Or, you can have a hawaiian birthday party. The props are all cheap at Party City. Make pina coladas (with a little rum extract, no rum) that they can drink in alcohol glasses, with a slice of pineapple on the side and a little umbrella. You can have beach towels spread everywhere, and the girls can wear swim suits (crazy but fun considering the weather). Get everyone sunglasses as a favor and provide fruit shishkebabs (with marshmallows), videos, and misc crafts picked up from Hobby Lobby.

You can make a party feel really special without spending much. The main thing is that the kids feel welcome and have fun.
How about doing crafts together to make the slumber party special? Kids will love to take their creations home afterwards and you don't need to buy party favors as well.
Try decorating mini glass bottles with plastic craft jewels, making marshmallow snowmen, or making crazy magazine collage people. Eight -year-old girls will also love making no-cook peppermint mice, and then making cardboard mouse-houses to take them home in.
Check out my website, below, for photos of these crafts and full instructions, as well as lots more ideas.
Have a great party!

Something at home is the way to go. You could have a scavenger hunt- find household items and the prize could be something inexpensive. Dress up is always easy and fun. You might check out beads. It's not that expensive and you might find a kit big enough where every girl could make a bracelet. Another thought- renting a dance type video game- the kind with a dancing square- they'll exercise and hopefully go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Depends on what one considers cheap. Things to keep cost down- keep the guest list to a minimum. A party at home also keeps the cost down, especially if they have close friends who would be willing to make it a potluck. Then the money could be spent on select decorations, the cake, and for a nominal fee, maybe a face painter or balloon maker or a bouncy house. Pizza seems to be the cheapest route with food. Good Luck!

Have a RoyalT party....get it Royalty (Royal Tea)....it's cute and cheap. Have the little girls dress up as royalty (queens, princess, etc) and you can make little tea cakes and finger foods and they can have tea in tea cups (lipton cranapple decafe is great) and it's so much fun. You can paint their nails and take their pictures and they will love it!

You can buy fun game boards like clue and twister. You can also rent movies or maybe have them bake a cake.
