Like next to your answer, a collom of who gave you a thumbs up or a thumbs down, a place where they could explain their reason for doing so.

I have never given a report to someone where i fealt that I needed it to be confidential. I only report child abuse or porn.

I think that is a good idea. I would not mind to show people if I have given a thumb down. I would not mind to show also who I have reported. Even if the avatar would be kept hidden but I would like that a lot if people had to explain why they reported the question or answer. Of course there should be a list of legitimate reasons.

My guidelines are pretty much the same as yours, no pornographic avatars or something that would be harmful for children to see.

I would even agree to give 10 or more points for all reports and lose points also if I give the thumb down.

I wouldn't find it fun, but I would find it enlightening to know the reason for a thumbs up/down. Most of the time, especially with controversial questions, I understand why I get thumbs down. Someone doesn't agree, which is perfectly understandable.

But there are other times I'll give an answer to a question that has a definite answer (such as "use this word in a sentence" or "what is the meaning of this word") and get a thumbs down even though it's correct and I've provided a link so everyone can see why it's correct. It would be nice to know the rationale behind that thumbs down.

I ALWAYS let the offensive person know that I have reported them.

It's ALWAYS because they were being offensive and immature.

"thumbs"? Don't really care since they're merely an expression and not likely to cause an action (like account suspension).

But, yeah, wouldn't it be cool to know who the snitches are?

I've lost 18 accounts and gotten a million violation reports, all because of Fundie Christians who are SUPPOSED TO BE MY BROTHERS IN CHRIST. When you get to that point, then you can start complaining
