That's because Jesus isn't God.
Here's what Jesus himself says at John 20:17.
"17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God."
Jesus plainly says he has a GOD! If Jesus is God how can he have a God?

They believe that Jesus was michael the archangel. That's like saying Bill Clinton is Mitt Romney. Obviously they're not the same person.
Jesus was Michael the archangel who became a man, The Watchtower, May 15,
1963, p. 307; The New World, 284.
Scripture says…
For to which of the angels did He ever say: “ You are My Son. Heb. 1:5

In Philippians 2:6, Paul writes that Christ Jesus was “in the form of God,” as many English versions render the Greek expression 'en morphe theou'. This phrase has given rise to the claim that Jesus is “very God of very God,” as declared in the Nicene Creed, the ancient and first official formulation of the Trinitarian faith.
According to this faith, Christ is “co-equal, co-eternal, and consubstantial” with the Father, the “second person” of the Trinity. This means that Jesus is really and truly God in every sense, apart from his being also man born of woman. All of this is declared to be a “mystery” which must be accepted by faith, under pain of excommunication or — in past centuries — death.
However...
Jesus’ words in John 17:3 that the Father is “the only true God” and by his testimony to the Samaritan woman that the Jews were correct in their doctrine of God (John 4:21, 22) — a doctrine which left no room for anything but the absolute oneness of God — makes it puzzling this insistence on viewing God as “three persons.”
One becomes further alarmed at such a requirement when reading John’s criteria for a saving faith: “Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (20:30, 31).
Nothing here about the necessity of believing that Jesus is in fact God, the Eternal One. No hint here of the Trinitarian title, “God the Son.” It is all a straightforward requirement to believe Jesus is the Christ, the Anointed One, the promised Messiah of Israel, and that he is truly God’s own Son.
Like Moses (Exo. 7:1) who was called Elohim acts in God’s place, Jesus was given authority to representative God here on Earth. (John 5:27)

Here's something they believe--that Jesus is a god.
Yes, they believe that he is a god.
Not the GOD. The creator of the universe, the Alpha and the Omega--he who was, who is and who is to come revealed in Revelations.
Jesus never rebuked Thomas when he proclaim, "My LORD and My God."
Amazing the level of blindness--and twisting of the scriptures that must be done to get to this position. Not only do they take scriptures out of context but also use their corrupted version of the bible--that has been changed to fit their false doctrines.
I pray that you are grounded and centered in the Word of God, knowing that you must be born again to see the Kingdom of God--they do not believe they have to be born again to see the kingdom.
They believe a magazine company--the publishing company--that they work for--is going to help them to have a CHANCE at life on 'paradise' earth.
And yet Jesus clearly states that where he is--there you may be also because he is going to prepare a place for us--that place being heaven--the New Jerusalem.

Pastor Billy says: JWs believe Jesus Christ is not who he claims to be. They believe him to be the arch-angel St. Michael in costume. They believe Christ never died and resurrected because he was always in spiritual form and not physical. They believe the Christ to merely be a messenger of God the Father and not also God the son.
St. John asks in his gospel "Who is the liar" and goes on to answer, "the one who denies the Father and the Son". In what sense? answer denial of Father and Son as God, Trinity One God.
The Jehovah Witness organization is not a Church nor does it have any attachment to what is Christian antiquity. It was created by the man Charles T Russell less than 150 years ago as a pseudo-Protestant sect. The organizaton does little to promote helping the poor or good works for anyone outside of the organizational structure. It's main priority is the spreading of Watch Tower literature which is published out of their NY publishing company.

They believe he is the first creation of Jehovah God, who, through him, all other things were created (In Colossians 1 you see where they added the word "other" in brackets when talking about Christ as the creator of all things. This is not the way it reads in the Greek). They believe he was a reincarnation of the archangel Michael, who was impaled on a stake, instead of crucified on a cross. After his death, he was reincarnated into other bodily forms when he reappeared, but they do not believe he actually arose from the dead. JW's also believe he returned, in the invisible sense in 1914, and that someday, after Armageddon, he will create a paradise on earth. They believe that he, along with 144,000 of who they consider to be "The Anointed Class" (this is from a very poor exegesis of Revelation 6:1-8) will rule from heaven, and the rest of Jehovah's faithful followers will enjoy paradise on earth.
Jehovah Witnesses do not believe that Christ's death brought about full pardon for sin. They believe it opens the doorway for a second chance, but that only comes from doing good works as the Organization sees fit! (Note: I am not a JW, and do not agree with this theology. I am just stating what they believe).
In response to the one who answered before me.....
When Jesus told Satan to go away because it was written that only God is to be worshipped, he said that because Satan had tempted Jesus to worship him. In Revelation 4, the Lamb (Christ) is seen sitting on the throne, and all who are in his presence worship him!!!! Hebrews 1:3 tells us how Christ is (present tense) "the exact representation of his (God's) very nature and upholds all things in the world by his power. Only God can be a representation of himself
Its interesting you quote John 8. Because in 8:58, Jesus, when referring to himself, tells the Pharisees, "Before Abraham was, I AM, making the same claim about himself that Yahweh did unto Moses." (Your NWT translation of "I existed" is not correctly in line with the Greek).
Now about your reference to Phillipians 2. In v. 5, the correct rendering from the Greek is how Jesus, "did not consider it robbery to be equal with God." This passage, when proper exesiges is applied, is a strong testimony for the deity of Jesus Christ.
As far as when the bible says Jesus, "Sat at the right hand of God" this is a typical biblical metaphor of the time. The right hand of God symbolized his omnipotent power. Sitting means he is the one who has finished the job, as well as the one who is the Sovereign Ruler. The Jews of Jesus day clearly recognized this. This metaphor is saying, "In Jesus is the complete power and Sovereignty of God", because Jesus is God!!!
Question for you sir. Are you, and the rest of the members of what you consider to be "Jehovah's Organization" all prophets. If you are, then explain why either myself or anyone else should ever listen to you, when your organization has prophesized Armegeddon many times (and please don't deny that you have. I remember it well back in 1975, and have actual Watchtower literature from other times your organization predicted it) as in accordance with Deuteronomy 18:22??? God is not the God of an organization that incorrectly makes false prophecies in his name!!!!

Wow I gave an accurate answer, that even the Witnesses can't disagree with and look at the onslaught of downward appendages! LOL...so the thumbs downs are because I answered the question at all, not for the content of the answer.
Witnesses do believe in Jesus. They just don't believe that Jesus is God.
