I think they are leaving because they are a total irrelevance in peoples lives now, and they will slowly fade away to nothing. We have science now to tell us about the world, we do not need any superstitions thanks.

Babylon the Great “sits on many waters.” According to Revelation 17:1, 15, these symbolize “peoples and crowds and nations and tongues”—hordes of adherents that she has regarded as a protection. But the “waters” are drying up! In Western Europe, where formerly she had great influence, hundreds of millions have openly ignored religion. In some lands, for many years there was a declared policy to try to destroy the influence of religion. The masses in those lands have not risen up on her behalf. Similarly, when the time comes for Babylon the Great to be destroyed, the dwindling number of her adherents will prove to be no protection at all. (Revelation 17:16) Though she claims a membership of thousands of millions, Babylon the Great will find herself defenseless against “the kings from the rising of the sun.”

I have read similar articles that the younger generation is more involved in video games than spiritual things.
Most children were either not sure if they believed in God or even if Santa clause was true. I think that teaching them Santa is a real person, only to find out he is a lie, hurts kids.
If he is a lie what about God? Is he a lie to?
People have done a lot of things poisioning their kids minds and the TV has done even worst. We are raising a generation of Athesists or spiritists.
Recognized religion is on it's way out. One thing sited was TV evangelists. With their song and feel good ministry it is more like sending your kids to a soft rock concert than a bible class. Some even sounds like hard rock.

This is very true. The loss will become increasingly higher as time goes by. This is because organized religion how it is practiced today has become a road block keeping many souls from evolving. However it does not mean people are leaving God. It merely means we will be learning to connect with God in a healthier way. There will be a fringe element of extremists who refuse to change of course.
Just remember all these people leaving organized religion are not leaving God. And God will never be leaving His people. Take comfort in that.

Interestingly, this question does not prove its point in my country Malaysia. We have, in the recent years, exposed so-called church pastors and priests, squandering AND laundering members' tithes for selfish gains, but yet we still see die-hard, faithful members standing by them.
Many of them refuse to acknowledge the Truth, turn a deaf ear or spread lies about each other (churches). You would be surprised to see many unregistered 'churches' popping up at corners of shops or housing estates, claiming to be 'THE' church that could take you to heaven!
Over here, members attendance is still quite OK, with certain churches like the Catholic and Methodist drawing quite a substantial number of people during its meeting days and even more during 'bigger' occasions like Christmas and Easter. I guess what attracted these people to remain these churches is their ability and flexibility to 'blend' in into other cultures like the celebrations of Chinese New Year and Dwali. I learned too from a Catholic friend that her church actually used Chinese popular song melodies to make into their church songs! And of course, faith healing is not to be left out.

People's eyes are being opened to the hypocrisy in false religion. They see how their so-called "shepherds" are just fleecing them and deserving of the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals where immorality is concerned.
The Bible foretold of our days- saying that people would have a form of religion but not acting as they should be as religious people.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, HAVING A FORM OF GODLY DEVOTION BUT PROVING FALSE TO ITS POWER; and from these turn aw

Yes, and I found proof. This site has much information about church attendance and religious activities (i.e. reading the Bible, praying, etc.) It's very interesting. I especially found it interesting that when asked about tithing, the church goers lied about how much they were giving. Last time I checked - telling a lie was a sin.

Religion can give you guidance but it is really Jesus who saves you, in these days of little faith some people leave their religions to become immoral or to join stange cults that have little or nothing to do with Christianism, in nowdays people think they know everything but it is not so, I myself chose to stay a Christian.

Yes, God has chosen to give them up, so they will burn in Hell. I am not concerned with them. As Christians, we should only care about those who are soundly saved.
