What is your present religion? Do you agree with ALL the doctrines and practices of your religion? Which ones do you not agree with?

I have mentioned earlier that when I was a baby, I was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church because both my parents belong to that church. When I entered the university, I came to question why there was a Roman Catholic Church and a Protestant Church at the periphery of the campus. When I was 31 years old, I decided to just be a plain follower of Jesus, a non-denominational Christian. In 1983 when I was 36, I first heard a holy spirit who we can hear but cannot see. We can record on audio tapes our sessions with Him.

In one session in mid-1980s, the Holy Spirit told us a parable about a gift. He asked me if I would accept the whole gift box wrapped in glistening foil with a beautiful ribbon. The gift box contains diamonds, precious stones, with feces and three dead cats.

My answer was that I will get only the diamonds and precious stones only. Then He asked me what about the feces and the dead cats. I said that I will discard them and select only the beneficial ones. He said that there are those who will accept everything in the gift box and in their gluttony, will even put the whole thing in their wardrobe. I did not know that time what He meant. Later, I realized that it was about religion that He compared the gift box with.

How about you? Do you accept entirely what your religion believes in and its practices?

I believe everything my religion teaches, until I get fresh inspiration from myself or other sources. I am a religion of one at the moment. All by myself. I believe that one can get a lot of good spiritual energy from a religion, that will do you good, even if you disagree with some of the spiritual beliefs. Nothing in this world is perfect, yet things do work adequately most of the time, and somethings work pretty well, One can get fed good spiritual energy, from an imperfect church, provided it has a decent level of morality, and connection with God. One needs to find the best fit for oneself. My focus is almost entirely spiritual, so I feed myself spiritually. But, I am an exception, most people are focused on other necessary areas of life, and need the services of a church of some form.

I find Papal Infallibility (a 19th century concoction that resulted in a mini-schism) to be highly suspect.
