It was fixing to get dark & I was fishing alone off of the pier by my house. I sneezed extremely loud. I heard a women's voice say, "God Bless you." As I looked towards the direction I thought the voice came from, I saw a women in the water. She quickly went in the water. I saw a huge fish tail as she went under. Can anyone out there help me catch her?? I don't want her getting hurt or getting caught in any tuna nets.

Mermaids do not do well in captivity. Although I believe you mean well, you should let her live free and pray for her safety.

And please send me the name of the hooch you were drinking that night. I would love to meet a real mermaid. So far, no luck (I've found that smelling like fish doesn't make a woman a mermaid).

Throw a note in a bottle into the water. Then go fishing by yourself again as many times as you can. Do other things as well such as hook a large (waterproof) sign onto the end of your rod so she knows you are there etc.

If you think you are mad (which no offence but it sounds like you are) then after throwing in the notes etc. then dive in there. Get your diving kit out snorkel and all and go and find her. Obviously take a large sign down there with you so that she knows you aren't an alien.

Good Luck

PS: If it doesn't work out, then get some help.

in most cercumstances hunting for the invisible is an ill advised past time. i do it every day so what am i talking about.
first things first. you need to know exactly where you where on that night. take a gold coin with you. real gold. hold it under the water for a little bit and try to catch some light on it.
hey presto.

oh and i dont recomend taking a fishingrod with you. it would be like taking a bazooka to a peace convention.
if in trouble go for the throat.

I too have encountered a mermaid-fishing in Lake Erie
I think it is best-for natuaral balance- to leave her alone.
Haven't you ever seen Splash with Darrel Hanna and Tom Hanks-it was based on a true story-maybe you should see it!

Grumbler I would suggest that you keep this information personal and not share it with other fishermen in your area or before you know it they will all be at your fishing hole seeking her out also. Best of luck and be nice to this mermaid as she may hold the secret of life and share it with you.
