It is...Bible School & Sunday School, exactly where it should be.

Our sacred text isn't taught in public schools, because they are *public* schools. If the Bible was going to be taught, then the Koran would need to be taught, and any other book that any other religious group wanted taught.

See how that would be a big mess for everyone? Teach your kids your values and religion at home, and let school focus on academic and secular subjects. That way, the government can't and won't interfere with your child's religious education.

Or, you could send your kid to a Christian school.

Thats a way of respecting other religions that don't believe in our sacred text like Hinduists, I don't consider that we're been persecuted at all, but forcing non Christians to learn about Christianism at school would indeed be persecution.

Do most schools read any religions text? If so, is Christianity left out? Well, I suppose if that's correct then you have a point. But many parents get mad when their children are taught about beliefs that are different from theirs.

My personal opinion is that we should read about all religions (or major ones, anyway). There is no reason to be uneducated just because you don't agree!

But, that all depends on how you view these religious documents. I believe that they should be taught because they are historical documents.

Because, from a legal standpoint, if they did they would have to teach the sacred texts of ALL other relgions as well and most Christians don't want THEIR children exposed to those other teachings (Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, Pagan, etc), they are thus willing to forego having THEIR texts taught to prevent other texts from being taught as well.

Because your bible is crap. It's a ridiculous collection of made-up stories, the same as any other so-called "sacred text". You want YOUR book taught, but not the Quran or the Torah or the Bhagavad Gita. Just like all the other christians I run into, you're nothing but a hypocrite.

The new golden rule: If you promise not to pray in my public school, I promise not to think in your church.

Because by your logic, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Masons, Hindus, Taoists, and Shintoists are also persecuted for not having their sacred texts taught in schools. Go to houses of worship for religion, go to school for education.

Christians aren't pesecuted. The church is for the sacred texts, schools are for academics.

Which religion would you have the government support anyways? Christianity is wildly different from one denomination to another... so really, which version would you vote for?

We can teach our kids our sacred text, school is for general education.

P.S. even though the bible is holy, Im not sure if we treat it sacred anymore.

Because the best tool in persecuting someone is to teach them objective, verifiable facts and to give the tools to be objective and to verify those and facts.

Because if we let them hear that stuff and they become Christians, they'll be persecuted. Down with Christianity!
