Visine ( for eyes) will take away the redness. The same thing that gets the red out of your eyes takes the inflammation away from the blemish. Good Luck. I know that sucks.

In the makeup section of any store you can find green-colored sticks. That sounds crazy, but the green helps to balance out the red of the blemishes and makes your face look more natural. Rub the green blemish stick over the blemishes and then cover it with your normal foundation.

If any of the blemishes are really bad, try putting some ice on them to reduce the swelling and make them easier to cover. Try and get some visene or similar eye drops as they can sometimes help take the red out of pimples. Another thing that can help is a spot treatment. They sell these in single use swabs at the drug store, or brands like Origins sell small bottles of "spot remover" that help dry up the blemish and treat the infected pore. The best thing to do after that is get a good concealer. The trick is to get one that will not create more blemishes by irritating the already sensitive skin. The best ones I have found are Bobbi Brown blemish stick and Benefit Galactic Shield. These both contain ingreditents that will help treat the pimple and are formulated to adhere to pimples without looking cakey or obvious. Apply these products after foundation, with a brush (the bacteria on your fingers will irritate the skin and add more bacteria to the equasion) and blend gently. They top with a translucent powder to set everything and keep it in place. This will help you cover the blemishes you have for your date tonight. Make sure not to use any shimmery powders on top of them either as this will serve to highlight the imperfections and uneven texture in your skin.
Make sure you are using a good, gentile cleanser formulated for your skin and oil free foundations made for skin prone to breakouts. This is they key to getting rid of them. If you have chronic breakouts perhaps it is time to talk to a dermatologist to try and get rid of them for good.

Physicians Formula makes a good one. Oh, and put a little Visine on the blemishes, it will take some of the red out. Good luck!!

New York Day Spa advises that you use warm chamomile teabags (have a disposable cup with warm water to soak the teabags) a few times over the red areas. This will soften the blemishes and reduce the redness. After you can apply a clay mask (http://www.newyorkdayspa.com/products/prod_camphor-masque.html). You can also use facial compact powder to camouflage the redness.

Get you some acne medication. Make sure you get the stuff that says Salycic Acid, and NOT Benzoyle Peroxide. Benzoyle Peroxide does nothing for the skin, Salycic Acid does.
