i told my mom that bb guns might count as an assault but she said to leave them alone and dont make a big deal out it because the police have bigger crimes to deal with.

Your Mom doesn't want you to call the cops because she can get charged for letting her older child abuse her younger ones and doing nothing about it.

If he shot a stranger with a BB gun it would be Assault 2 at the very least. Why should it be any different if he does it to family? Your mother is a terrible parent!

Call the cops

Prosecution is unlikely but all sorts of things can happen. Number one is you could call the police and they will explain to your Mom that social services could get involved. A teacher could notice a bump on any of you and get them involved. They might interview all and determne that you brother is a danger....... might work out but they may charge him. The first thing they will do is take away his weapon.

Your Mom needs to get on this because it could become a huge hassle and be very expensive for her. She might lose all of her children. When it comes down to it one errant BB could take away your sight forever. One errant BB that requires a hospital visit will mean that they have to report it. Then it is your Mom who goes to jail.

Talk to your Mom and explain this. If that does not work or if you feel unable to speak to the school counselor. Odds are it will be explained to your mother and she will realize that she needs to deal w. this.

It's assault. Such an attitude concerning BB guns could someday carry over to real firearms, so the police are likely to very much interested. A BB gun shouldn't be used in any way that you wouldn't use the real thing.

Take the gun in the middle of the night and hide it. That can be agg assult if he does not stop. Call the police if he does not stop. You do not need your mom to do it, you are allowed. It would be up to the parent to press charges or not, but they can take the bb gun away.

I would tell another trusted adult friend.
A school teacher, guidance counselor, pastor- Aunt or Uncle your grand parents. Tell anybody and everybody that will listen- it may make your Mom mad but hopefully someon else will be able to make her understand- that shooting people with BB guns is DANGEROUS and her son needs to be disciplined.

Your Mom really needs to take this more seriously.
If that was my son- he'd wish he never saw a BB gun after I caught him shooting anybody with it.

My friend's friend got shot in the eye from that. I hate to tell you this but your mom dosent want the police involved because she might go to jail. Show her the bumps and say that he dosent have the right to do this. Talk to your brother and tell him how you feel. Ask him why he does that. Then tell your mom what he said. If she dosent do anything about it go to your brothers teacher. ( do this in secert) He will have to stop or he will go to juvinille. When he turns 18 he can go to jail for this.

I propose which you retain a mag of the assaults which you and your sisters are suffering on the hands of your older brother. If achieveable take photos and checklist the dates and time of day. considering the fact which you seem to have get entry to to an digital mail account you may checklist the occurrences on line. this might enable you defend your narrative till you record the crime and the courts supeona the education. as quickly as you record this; action would be taken on your behalf. the outcomes in step with risk which you and your sisters are bumped off out of your mom's custody till the concern is resolved in a courtroom of regulation. you would be separated out of your mom and Brother and maximum possibly placed into state custody pending the end results of the study. Yes, he can absolutely be arrested for that. It doesn't matter if it's a roll of toilet paper, no one is allowed to hit, throw, or shoot something at anyone else and especially not on a regular basis. Go to your school counselor and show them. That way if your mom gets mad, you can tell her your teacher noticed the marks and sent you to the office.

Is it a Red Ryder BB gun, because you know, he'll end up poking his eye out.

When he goes away,or to sleep...Remove the gun to a place where he cannot find it. the attic under insulation is a good spot...Or under the house...Or even the neighbors trash can.And I am PROUD of you for being willing to act when the adults around you refuse to.
